A Good Old Fashioned Christmas Recap

Sometimes, the mark of a great holiday is when you have little social media evidence to show for it. (That's the excuse I'm going with for my radio silence last week, at least.)

But even though I have little proof, Christmas did happen. And it was rather grand.

Derrick came from Florida to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my family. And there's just something special about seeing your significant other being subjected to your loud Polish family, trying to play it cool when Pop feeds him the oplatek (thin flour wafers that Polish families share on Christmas Eve) like he's an ole oplatek pro.

There was a lot of wine, not much arguing, and Derrick even gave me a fancy camera that let me capture moments like this:

Overall, I ate too much, didn't take enough pictures, and was one of the jolliest assholes this side of the nuthouse. And really, I couldn't have asked for more.
